Certification of Construction (Electrical Installations to BS7671)

Scottish Building Standards legislation, allows for the appointment of Approved Certifiers of Design and Approved Certifiers of Construction. Properly qualified electricians can become Certifiers and have the authority to certify work.

Only a Scheme Provider appointed by BSD can assess and appoint Certifiers. SELECT and Certsure Trading as NICEIC are able to register both Approved Bodies and Approved Certifiers of Construction. Individuals who wish to register as an Approved Certifier of Construction must meet the criteria set out in the Scheme Guide and apply for registration annually. Organisations that wish to register as an Approved Body must employ at least one Approved Certifier of replicas de relojes Construction and meet the criteria set out in the Scheme Guide. The annual registration fee is £350 plus VAT, which is waived for SELECT members.

Certificates are priced at £5 each plus VAT and can be purchased in blocks of five only. Certificates are ordered, printed and managed from within the secure area of the SBSC website. A certification Checklist, to support completed certificates, can also be completed and printed from the website.

Sole practitioners must apply as both an individual and a body using two application forms. The fees are the same as for bodies and individuals at £350 plus VAT per annum for bodies (waived for SELECT members) and £50 plus VAT per annum for individuals.

To maintain registration, both Approved Bodies and Approved Certifiers of Construction must pay the annual registration fees and continue to meet the detailed criteria set out in the Scheme Guide.

Approved Bodies will be audited by SELECT on a risk assessment based frequency. The purpose of auditing is to confirm the continued suitability for registration,omega replica the standard of the electrical installation work satisfies the requirements of BS7671 and the Building Standards and that certification is being undertaken to an adequate standard. The management of the scheme and auditing processes undertaken by SELECT are themselves subject to annual audit by the BSD on behalf of The Scottish Ministers.
