The Certification Register is the only authoritative source of information on all Approved Bodies and Approved Certifiers in Scotland and is held by the Scottish Government Building Standards Division. It is a comprehensive list of all scheme members and is updated weekly from information provided by all Scheme Providers.
The Register enables members of the public to find and contact an Approved Body offering certification services in their area. Visit the BSD website to find an Approved Body who can provide an Approved Certifier to carry out your work.
The Register is also used by local authority verifiers to check the validity of certificates issued by Approved Certifiers. Also, when a discount on the building warrant fee has been claimed on the basis that an Approved Certifier of construction will be used, the verifier will use the Register to check the Approved Certifier's registration details are still current.
